I turned this platter out of a cabinet maker offcut. When Sapele wood is oiled and polished it shows gorgeous golden shades. I applied a natural food-safe finish to keep the beauty of the wood imperfection and the natural patterns. It is designed for serving rice, salad, guacamole, nibbles... and will add an elegant unique touch to your table.

Hand-wash wooden bowls with warm water and mild dish soap, dry washed them with a clean dishtowel, then allow them to air-dry completely before putting them away. Apply some natural oil when it looks a bit dry. 

Wooden items can absorb odours from strong flavours like garlic or oil and could transfer the odours and flavours to other foods. To reduce the smell, rub the wooden surface with the cut side of a halved lemon or with a paste made of baking soda and water.

With these tips, your wooden bowls should last a long, long time.
