Oak/Walnut/Zebrano/Cherry Cheese Board
I'm a cheese board made with love out of off-cuts from a cabinet maker. I'm made of walnut, oak, cherry, zebrano wood and my handle is turned pine wood.
I am treated with foodsafe mineral oil.
Approx. size: 35 cm x 2 cm.
Hand-wash wooden utensils with hot water and mild dish soap, dry washed them with a clean dishtowel, then allow them to air-dry completely before putting them away.
Periodically rub them with mineral oil or a beeswax compound. Don't use food-based oil like vegetable or olive oil, since these types of oils can go rancid.
Wooden items can absorb odours from strong flavours like garlic or oil and could transfer the odours and flavours to other foods. To reduce the smell, rub the wooden surface with the cut side of a halved lemon or with a paste made of baking soda and water.
With these tips, your wooden kitchen utensils should last a long, long time.
